The Effect of Pin Shape on the Friction Stir Welding Quality of Aluminum AA1100 Series

چکیده

Aluminum is a material that soft, lightweight, resistant to corrosion, and has good electrical thermal conductivity. specific gravity of about 2.65-2.8 kg/dm³, melting point 658ºC, tensile strength 90 MPa. 1100 series an aluminum alloy mixed with other materials, such as copper, iron, chrome, manganese, zinc, content 99,0%. Welding the joining two metals in liquid state or without filler. FSW (friction stir welding) friction welding; process does not require filler material. The heat used melt metal obtained from between indenter workpiece. In research, shape pin is, ovale shape, cone changing spiral form tool rotation 2000 rpm welding rate 16 mm/minute. tests carried out are Rockwell hardness testing tests. From results research conducted, it was found greatly affects quality weld. better weld compared shapes.
